Dear Diary

Let me tell you about my summer. What a whirlwind of activity. I have already talked about the trip to Puerto Rico but that was only the beginning. Or was it the middle? So much has been happening. Perry took another group of youth on a ministry tour. I helped him teach them the music and work on their program.

Letter 07 – First Missionary Trip – Nancy

First missionary trip – July 1983

Dear Lynne,

We are back from our trip and just picked John up from my parent’s house He sure was  happy to see us. When we left him with my parents just over two weeks ago, I was nervous, but seeing him today, I felt  relieved, happy, and satisfied. Earlier this year, Perry began planning for the Life Corp projects. Life Corp is a summer ministry program for youth and Perry was asked to be the director of the program a year ago. He enjoys this ministry and this year he expanded it to three different events. One of them was a trip to Puerto Rico for two weeks. Letter 06 – John’s Arrival

Wednesday before Easter – April 1983

Nancy: Don’t you dare ask me again.

Perry: Ask you what?

Nancy: Don’t be smart. You want to know how I am doing? I am pregnant and two weeks overdue.  And I am not going to tell you how I feel. And for your information I don’t know anymore than you when the baby will come.
